In the case of companies registered overseas, the following documents are required:
i. All the documents required for Locally Registered Companies or equivalent, copies of which
should be certified as ‘true copy of original’ by a notary or advocate; and
ii. Official and/or authenticated translations of all documents in the Maltese or the English
language if and where applicable; and
iii. Legal opinion by a competent person (advocate or notary) conversant with the laws of the
country where the company/entity is registered, confirming that the documents provided
and the advice given is in conformity with the laws of the country; and
iv. Certificate by a competent authority (such as Embassy of Malta in the country where the
company/entity is registered, or Ministry of Foreign Affairs) confirming the true signatures,
authenticity of the documents and opinions mentioned above together with legal
confirmation of place where said company has been registered; and
v. The local representative should also demonstrate his/her consent in writing to his/her
appointment as representative.
